Negative Space Exhibit

  • IS Projects 15 Northwest 5th Street Fort Lauderdale, FL, 33301 United States (map)

The SFMQG Negative Space exhibit opens to the public as part of the FAT Village Art Walk.

At our July meeting, SFMQG members celebrated the finale of our Negative Space Challenge.  Members were challenged to design an original quilt incorporating the modern quilting design concept of negative space. Twenty two members completed quilts and we had a wonderful meeting culminating in a vote by members for three prize winners.

Panoview of the July 2016 SFMQG Negative Space Challenge Finale - sorry not all the quilts are shown.

IS Projects is a communal printmaking and book arts studio located in the Flagler Arts & Technology Village (aka FAT Village) in downtown Fort Lauderdale.  IS Projects do wonderful workshops, exhibits and events aimed at igniting a love of fine craft in South Florida, and building a collaborative environment for the craft scene.

SFMQG has been invited to bring our Negative Space challenge to IS and we will be their featured exhibit for the July FAT Village Art Walk. All twenty two quilts will be displayed at the reception and at IS throughout Art Walk on July 30th, and until August 9th.
