As art quilter Christine enjoys not only the malleability and colors of fabric, but also the process of ‘painting’ artwork with fabric and thread.
Fascinated by the inner strength of humans to cope when faced with adversity, tragedy, or severe health issues, the topics of Christine’s artwork revolve around mindfulness, emotional well-being and resilience. Her own resilience gave rise to her artistic voice and every new art quilt is influenced by personal growth.
Christine uses her visual voice to speak up, to encourage, or to invite for a pause as her art quilts are displayed in public exhibitions and private homes, and as commissions for hospitals and places of worship.
In the lecture ‘Create with Confidence’, Christine will discuss the obstacles we all face in our creative expression and how we can overcome them, individually, in one-on-one settings, or as a member of a group. She will offer a mixture of practical steps, plenty of inspiration for a positive mindset, and some not so serious stories about her own creative journey. Of course, lots of images of her art quilts accompany this lecture.
You can see Christine’s art quilts and find out more about her lectures on her website. You can also follow her on Instagram and Facebook.
