SFMQG is happy to be virtually hosting Timna Tarr’s popular Map Making with Fabrics Workshop August 22nd, 2020.
Workshop: Map Making with Fabrics
Teacher: Timna Tarr
Time: Work at your own pace using Timna’s pre-recorded class (you can start before the official workshop, for example). Once you've enrolled and paid, you will have access to all of the course material through June 30, 2021. So devour it all in one weekend or take things slow. It's your choice! Detailed information about workshop here.
Timna will do two half-hour live Q&A sessions at 10am and 1pm. We will also have a 3pm “show and tell” wrap up for our members separately that day.
Cost: $35, paid directly to Timna on her website.
Register for the Free Live Zoom via the Guild website.
Size Limit: Up to 30 members can participate in the Live Zoom Q&As.
Workshop Description: Learn how to use fabric to capture a special location. Maybe it’s a favorite vacation spot, your neighborhood, or your hometown. Over the course of the workshop, you will learn how to translate a paper map into a personal map quilt. Timna will show you several techniques she uses to make map quilts, in the hope that you will be able to take that information to make a map that helps you mark your place in the world.
