Materials that you’ll bring to the workshop:
Fabrics
We will be working in solids, so bring yardage/fat quarters - whatever, in a range of colors.
a range of colors in dark, medium, light values
Neutrals (black, whites, grays, beige) in darks, mediums, lights. These are very handy to have.
To save time, pre-cut, in any colors you like, 12 rectangles 4"x6"
4 light
4 medium
4 dark
NOTE: black and white make it easy to experiment without checking values ahead, but any dark and light will work. If unsure, check values.
The Usual Suspects
Sewing machine
Masking or blue painter's tape to attach batting to wall
a piece of batting approx 3’ x 4’ to use as a design wall
Iron (if not supplied by venue)
Ruler (even though you won't use it much)
fabric scissors
seam ripper
pins (if you use them)
rotary cutter & mat
threads
batting (in case you finish a small piece and want to quilt it)
*optional: fusibles if you use them
