December Meeting Recap

Our December meeting was short, but was followed by a very productive Sewcial. Thank you to all who joined us, and to everyone who participated in our QuiltCon Charity Quilt. Here are some highlights from our December meeting:

  • Allison started the meeting with a few reminders about membership. Dues for 2016 will be due in January. You can renew your membership online before the meeting by going to the store on our website, or you can renew at the meeting. Annual membership is $50.
  • We have many exciting activities planned for 2016, including 8 workshops! As a reminder, members will receive a 20% discount on all workshops, lectures, retreats and other activities. You can read more about this on our website.
  • Charlotte showed a sample from the Red Thread Embroidery workshop, which will take place on January 23rd. Jennifer Lee or Red Thread will hold both a Lecture & Trunk Show, followed by a Workshop in Fort Lauderdale. If you’re interested in joining, or hearing more, please check out the events tab on our website.
  • Patti showed us January’s BOM, Fractured Background, in the Peonies and Paper Chains Color Palette. Instructions and photos are on our blog.
  • We ended the meeting with Show & Tell. It was nice to see so many new modern quilts and quilt tops at Show & Tell this month. Our members are such a talented group!

Our December meeting was followed by a Sewcial at StitchCraft. Many members stayed after the meeting to help design and put together our QuiltCon Charity Challenge Quilt Top and Back. The quilt has been basted, and is now being quilted. Thank you to everyone who participated! A lot of hard work was put into this quilt, and we cannot wait to see how it looks when it’s finished!
