QuiltCon Charity Quilt Update

Happy Monday Quilters!

One of the Modern Quilt Guild's largest charity projects is the 2017 QuiltCon Charity Quilt Challenge. Every year, the Modern Quilt Guild sets a theme and color palette. Groups all over the world are invited to join and create their own quilt fitting this theme to hang in QuiltCon. After QuiltCon, we will donate our finished quilt to a charity of our choice.

Last year, we made a fantastic sunset themed quilt. We are excited to participate in the 2017 QuiltCon Charity Quilt Challenge.

The theme for 2017 is scale, and our color palette can be described as:

A few members have been working over the past month to come up with a potential design for this quilt. Our inspiration for the design is a lifeguard stand.

We've been working on a few potential designs using these lifeguard stands as inspiration. We'll be meeting at Patch Reef park on October 8th for a sew day, where we'll assemble and sew the top together. We hope you'll join us there!

If you have any questions about the project, or want to get involved, please email Kate@southfloridamqg.com.

Happy Quilting!
