Our speaker is appearing In-Person Lecture by Regina Jestrow and brings a presentation you can view on Zoom. Regina Jestrow began sewing as a child and went on to a deep exploration of American textile history. Her reinterpretation of quilting traditions employs improvisation, contrast, shifts in scale and repeat patterns, notably half square triangles, flying geese, log cabins and pinwheels. The New York native living in Miami is inspired by South Florida landscapes and its diverse population. Regina incorporates new, second-hand and hand-dyed textiles using South Florida plants.Some members made a field trip to her solo show this year at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach.
