MEETING MINUTES
Meeting opened by Brenda and introduced guest lecturer, Linda Hungerford.
Linda presented her No Tails Binding Lecture. What an interesting technique - thank you Linda!
Cathy, BOM, showed off the E blocks from several months ago on her design wall and picked a winner - AJ - woo hoo!!! She then showed the new block for next month. The new plans are to raffle BOM’s online so mail to Cathy for a drawing. She will be doing two drawings a month to catch up with previous months so send them all to her - with enough postage please. Her mailing address was sent to all members in a separate email. Directions are on BOM webpage.
Charlotte, Membership, announced new members - see list above. 120 members - WOW! There will be another special raffle when guild reaches 125 members. Tell your friends all the fun we are having virtually.
Patti, QAL, explained the QAL for the new members and then talked about this month’s inspiration - Hey Jude. This month’s Beatles prompt is to take a traditional quilt block and “make it better”.
Next month is the last clue and time to put things together. And there’s going to be a twist. Next month I will need to know who’s in for showing something off in November at the finish. And there will be small but cool prizes for our finishers.
Info on the entire Beatles QAL to date on webpage. You have plenty of time to catch up for next month.
Susan and Chris, Charity Quilts, continue making placemats for meals on wheels and 45x60 lap sized quilts to be collected at a later date. Check out Charity tab on website.
Judy, Challenge, Through your Modern Eyes. Choose an artist you admire and interpret it in a modern way. Due in November. 15 members are signed up. You have time to create a masterpiece so hoping for more members to take the challenge.
Brenda for Nicole, Events, all lectures and workshops are online in Events.
