Lecture
August Lecture - Sarah Ruiz - Inspiration to Quilt
The lecture is free to members. Guests can join us for $10 - pay HERE.
Sarah is a quilter and NASA aerospace engineer at the Johnson space center in Houston. You may know her on Instagram as @saroy Her quilts have been displayed at QuiltCon, and her patterns have been featured on the MQG website. She started a T-shirt quilt in 2004 – and let it percolate until she took a quilting class in 2011. Sarah treats quilt design as a problem-solving exercise using her engineering and artistic sides. She is teaching 3 classes at QuiltCon 2023 in Atlanta, so many of us will have a chance to meet her in person. Sarah will outline her Inspiration to Quilt for us.

QAL - Patti - Final Reveal Show & Tell. We’re shooting for a special exhibit of the finished quilts at BQE
SFMQG Challenge - AJ
BRCC - Combined sew-lecture-business meeting. Front door locks at 1 p.m. Knock on room door if you arrive later. The building staff will be back to normal hours in September. We’re scheduling into 2023, so check the Events tab or SFMQG Quilting Fun summary on the website occasionally.
