Quilt Your Book QAL
MargieR and MarieF welcome you to SFMQG new QAL Challenge called “Quilt Your book”! If you are a book lover, spend time reading, sew with an audio-book, find yourself admiring book covers at the bookstore, or are simply curious and adventurous, then this project is for you!
Our inspiration is Margaret Fleisher’s 100-day project 2021 based on book covers. Margaret Fleisher’s book-inspired quilt blocks became in 2022 the “Patchwork & Prose BOM” with Quiltfolk.
If ever you are wondering: Are book covers really a thing? Yes! And there are book covers competitions! Curious? Check these out!

Quilt Your Book
In the next 6 months, we will present to you a book cover. A book we have read, or not. What’s important is that it has a pretty cover. We are going to get inspired by this cover and turn it into a quilt block.
Calendar
We are launching at the March 16 meeting. The last book/block of the collection will be given on August 17. Prepare your top by October 16 and submit for judging. On November 16, at our potluck anniversary hybrid meeting, there will be a prize for first, second and third position as well as a viewers’ choice. There will be a draw every month for all who submit their block for Show and Tell the Wednesday prior to the monthly meeting.
