MEETING MINUTES

Cathy opened mtg at 1pm. Dual meeting at Boca Raton Community Center & online.

Attendance : 50 members - 12 in house + 38 on zoom. 3 lecture guests.

Cathy introduced speaker Penni Domikis - All Scrapped Out! Penni spoke till 2:25

Cathy, community outreach quilt. 5 designs submitted. Charlotte would email designs and voting info.

Cathy, meeting room expense : Dues were raised this year because starting Sept we have to start paying rent for meetings and sew days. Starting October, there is a proposal stating raising room rates start at $50 first hour and $25 each additional hour. For us, if proposal passed, that would be $200 per day and we would have to limit our meetings to one day a month. We won’t know until the end of September. We’ll keep you informed. For now, we are trying a combination see day/meeting day, with room available 9-4. The other side of the coin is in person attendance. We have 131 members and only 12-15 have come to meetings. Discussion ensued about other possible meeting locations, possible - County Extension office. Dues there are $8/person but mtg rooms are free.

Cathy, Quiltcon : Catalog available. Air starts at $200 rt, rooms start at $219/d

QAL : Patti explains how to make arms for whirligig, and made a correction to directions of 8 not 6 background blocks.. Directions are on website.

BQE Quiltique : 4/5 bag patterns online to make for quiltique. There are 2 challenges, and raffle tix for longarmer are $5.

DIY BOM - Cathy : There were 8 participants and DianeF was chosen for gift certificate.

Charity - SusanC & Chris : All info is on website. 12 people came to charity sewing today.

Membership - 131, no new members this month
