MEETING MINUTES

Brenda started the meeting at 1:00PM

Cathy introduced speaker, Marge Tucker Lecture - Improv and Abstractions in Antique Quilts. She spoke and answered questions until 2:35 There were 66 attendees and 7 guests.

Treasurer - AJ $12, 565 in treasury.

BQE - AJ Preparations are underway, assuming county will allow the gathering. Classes are opening, quilts can be entered, and a questionnaire is being emailed about guild table for Quiltique.. BQE website.

Membership - Charlotte New members JulieL, KimberlyH & ShirleyPG - 123 members total. Quiltcon together quilt can use more blocks using guild’s colors. See logo.

BOM - Cathy April BOM, 5 patch style in monochromatic colors, were won by LisaF. May block on website.

Charity - Susan and Chris Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse is the women’s shelter chosen. Goal is 25 twin sized quilts this year. Thanks SueW for batting donation! Have enough blocks for one twin sized quilt so far. Please make 5 or more. Directions on website.

Patti, QAL: 2021-04 Month #2 SFMQG Florida Flyover QUILT-ALONG (QAL) with Patti is another 18 1/2” block to be cut in half. Post progress and blocks using hashtag #sfmqg2021qal. The prizes are sponsored by Red Thread Studio. All details on website.

Linda H, Challenge: SFMQG 2020 CHALLENGE - Curve Around Challenge. Any size, any color, with only requirement being quilt must have modern take on curves. Rules and suggestions are on our website. The finished quilt is due at the November mtg, then 10 days of voting, with winners announced at December mtg.
