May 2020 – Month Two
Black Bird –
This song was featured on the “White Album” and is a personal favorite of mine. The beginning of the song featured an introduction based on a classical piece written by Bach that both Paul and George were trying to learn on guitar as a “showoff piece”. Paul has said recently that the song was inspired by racial tensions in 1968 (“Bird” is a slang word for a woman in England).
This month’s block will feature a bird motive. Using flying geese, you will create a block featuring “birds”. Your geese can be of any size. You may mix sizes of geese in your block. You may use a large “goose” with tiny piecing inside. Your geese may be lined up straight or travel in a sideways or diagonal matter on your 18.5 inch block. Let your birds FLY on this block
Due at next meeting - either show at June meeting or post online.
