MEETING MINUTES

Cathy opened mtg at 1pm, welcoming guests.

Cathy introduced speaker Teri Lucas - Learn to Stitch with Reckless Abandon Teri showed slides and spoke about all her quilting experiences till 2pm with Q&A till 2:20. There were 74 attendees - 68 members and 2 guests.

Cathy: Future meetings will be held at Boca Raton Community Center. Sew day on 2/19/2022 Noon-4pm will be held there as well. Website pages will be updated in the near future.

Cathy asked for volunteers for following positions:

VP Education. This year’s lectures are all selected, so the person would start on 2023.
BQE representative/liaison. Volunteer will attend board meetings and relay info to membership.
Social Media guru to keep up SFMQG presence on Facebook and Instagram, etc.
Challenge coordinator to develop a theme and promote it through the year.

DIY BOM - Cathy : There were 13 participants and JaneA was chosen for gift certificate.

Membership - Charlotte : new member CoryA and 2 guests. Renewal process is complete with 122 members.

Treasurers Report - AJ : Account balance is approx $13,700. MQG dues paid. Labels for Charity are ordered.

QAL - Patti : Info on this years topic will be available soon. Hint: it will be scrappy.

Charity - SusanC & Chris : All info is on website.

BQE Guildtique 2023 - AlisonR : 3 projects posted. 2 new ones will be added each month. Chris showed coaster samples from MQG website. Pattern is free. Also mug rug, plastic bag and notebook covers. Make your fabric choices modern.

Cathy asked how many going to QuiltCon. 5 or more. Asked those attending to send photos.

Brenda thanked everyone for pillow shams to match quilt for last year of presidency.
