Good Day Sunshine -
This song was written by Paul and John in 1966. Who doesn’t love its optimistic nature? Paul McCartney wrote this on a sunny day at John Lennon's house. It was influenced by the Lovin' Spoonful, who had a happy hit with "Do You Believe In Magic?" The actual Lovin' Spoonful hit which inspired this song was "Daydream," a famously carefree, upbeat tune.
This month you will create a block featuring the sun. This will involve making a half circle block similar to this tutorial. An alternative is to make just a plain half circle block using the curved piecing techniques you learned in last year’s quilt-along. Or how about adding sun rays? Just make sure your block features a half circle similar to the sun and finishes 18.5 inches.
